If you would like to join the fight in stopping KOSA, the SCREEN Act, Section 230 repeal, and other bad internet bills from becoming a reality; the most effective course of action is to let your members of Congress know how dangerous these bills are. If you are unsure of who your members of Congress are, click here. Once you enter your address it will tell you who represents you in the Senate and the House of Representatives and give you options to contact them.
Writing your own emails and scripts are always encouraged; however I have a couple premade ones provided.
(Senator / Representative followed by last name),
My name is (your name here), I am one of your constituents and I am urging you to vote NO on the Kids Online Safety Act, the SCREEN Act, the Section 230 repeal act, and any other bill originating from the large internet safety package recently advanced from the House Energy and Commerce Committee. These bills do nothing to protect children; many of these are age-verification bills which Republicans and President Trump opposed in England because it mass-censored conservative speech online.
How exactly are we protecting children if we are allowing them and everyone else who uses the internet to give their sensitive government information to the Big Tech companies we want to protect them from? In addition, these bills allow any state attorney general to hold these companies liable for “harmful” content; so what would stop a Democrat attorney general from censoring content related to guns and Christianity because in their opinion they are “harmful to children”?
Worst of all, if Section 230 is repealed, any leftist looney could try to sue internet companies over conservative viewpoints their users express on them. These ideas to regulate the internet do not align with ideals the Constitution of the United States espouses, such as the First Amendment and the Fourth Amendment, and in fact seem to align more with suppressive communist nations like North Korea and China.
Once again I urge you to oppose the Kids Online Safety Act, the SCREEN Act, Section 230 repeal, and any other of the several internet safety bills recently advanced from the House Energy and Commerce Committee, thank you.
Sincerely, (your name here)

These bills do nothing to protect children; many of these are age-verification bills which are opposed by various human rights organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union.
How exactly are we protecting children if we are allowing them and everyone else who uses the internet to give their sensitive government information to Big Tech companies we want to protect them from? In addition, these bills allow any state attorney general to hold these companies liable for “harmful” content; so what would stop a Republican attorney general from censoring content related to racism and climate change because in their opinion they are “harmful to children”? Additionally, many of these bills give responsibilities to the Federal Trade Commission, which President Trump has tried to exert greater control over by firing two of its commissioners.
Worst of all, if Section 230 is repealed, any far-right extremist could try to sue internet companies over viewpoints their users express on them. These ideas to regulate the internet do not align with ideals the Constitution of the United States espouses, such as the First Amendment and the Fourth Amendment, and in fact seem to align more with authoritarian dictatorial governments such as those in Russia and Iran.
Once again I urge you to oppose the Kids Online Safety Act, the SCREEN Act, Section 230 repeal, and any other of the several internet safety bills recently advanced from the House Energy and Commerce Committee, thank you.
